I’m so heartbroken to hear this. She was a brilliant mind, a warm and kind person, and a role model to all mothers scientist. A close collaborator, she welcomed me to her lab in Cambridge and helped me get started in the field. Marta will be dearly missed. What a great loss.

Very saddened by the lost of Marta. Seconds after talking to her for the first time, my initial intimidation became permanent admiration. It's been now confirmed both Marta and Tamara died in the accident. My deepest condolences to their families and the developmental biology community. Such a loss is difficult to explain 🧪
