I wonder if it's gonna be a problem that megabudget gachas, which are like, basically 100% income-reliant on whether people like their character designs, increasingly have the stink of AI art all over them

See, it’s sorting this out that’s the democratisation of Art, not letting any old herbert who can’t be arsed thumb-type a few prompts into AI. Absolutely fucking drives me spare. You want to democratise Art do you, keyboard warrior? Give some money to Arts Emergency, mate.

I think AI slop in flyers and menus is well-modeled by my 2023 take that slop would just become the “clip art” of the 21st century. ultimately it will not be a deal breaker in a lot of contexts but you will instantly clock that you are not dealing with Serious People

So many people telling me this panel connects with them.I even had texts when I woke up about it. I had a nicely rendered version but scrapped that and drew how I felt. I almost didn’t use it because it is so rough but this is what art can do that AI can never do and that was the point of the comic.

In related news 🫖 My mega corp job got a SHITLOAD of merch for one of our sponsorings. But used Ai for the art. & the Ai changed the branding logo to a competitor. No one caught the Ai mistake. & now its ALLLLL being thrown away. Massive expensive fuck up. All because they used Ai & not an artist
