A lot of seemingly supportive cis people seem to basically think that being trans is some kind of weird ultra advanced larp that people go to surgery for They basically see us as the equivalent of medically enhanced furries or something

A big part of why I insist trans people need to be far more aggressive in advocating for ourselves is because there seems to be an entire category of liberal who thinks access to gender affirming care is unimportant but being allowed to serve in the military is vital to us

VERY importantly: Do not, under any circumstances, mention the disparity between the number of m/m and f/f fics. They will begin trying to jump through hoops, even if none are physically present. It isn’t dangerous, usually, but the secondhand embarrassment can be detrimental to the viewer.
