I’m not sure TNG makes it without Patrick Stewart’s gravitas as Captain Picard. Everything else in that 1st season was uneven as they found their footing. A lesser actor as Picard might not have provided the time necessary to work it all out. And if TNG doesn’t go, who knows about all that followed
