About 3000 years ago we have records of an Egyptian prince who was doing archeological surveys of older Egyptian buildings, which were already over 1000 years old. When the first pyramid was being built, there were still Mammoths in Eurasia.
Show PostIt’s a small point, but I was really annoyed by a line in the Cruise Mummy that was like “No one has opened this tomb for 2000 years.” 2000 years ago Egypt had already been Hellenized by Alexander and was in the process of being Romanized.

Show PostHoward Hawks, bless his heart, had a go at Egypt, but if ever there was a film that looms at another culture through the lens of its own, it's this one. The IMDB Goofs page is a treat.
