If we want to make a statement A. Show up for the party we think we can influence. B. Demand other minorities in that party speak out for us. C. Demand the party accept us and show up for us. Publicly convince it's voting base we matter.

What I'm saying is, we behave like making Democrats lose elections will "teach them a lesson about how important trans people are." It teaches the opposite. It teaches that we aren't reliable voters and they should spend their time elsewhere. It teaches other groups that we aren't in solidarity.

It's not a boycott. It doesn't work like Target. People choose between this guy and Ashley Hinson, the much more anti-trans republican. What we Trans people vote for is the party and our chance to shape it once we make a relationship with it. Do you think LBJ was a favorite of the Black community?
