Our Ingram representative told me that on a visit. Not that it ever helped me understand anything. But it was interesting.
Show PostI pitched something a couple of years back about how fucked up book manufacturing is in the day of print-on-demand (inspired by the hoops i often have to jump through to buy genuine, offset-printed copies from a real print run instead of laser-printed garbage) but never sold it. It’s a mess!
Show PostAt one point, a few years back, Ingram was supplying about 1/2 the books ordered off Amazon. I don’t know what the current deal is.
Show PostI've had the publication date of @miriamposner.com's Seeing Like a Supply Chain on my calendar all year, and now it's finally here! I'm so excited to read it.
Show Post"...supply-chain problems, which I only half-understand" Is that "advantageous agnosis"? 😉
