tangent, but the thing about sharing our work online is it gets incorporated into people's lives and lexicons. they think about it, they talk about it, they interact with it in ways we aren't privy to. that's special and magical! it's also outside of our control, and sometimes that's uncomfortable.

i agree with you! my feeling is you're still in the realm of a personal interaction bc you're sharing it with a friend (like lending out a book.) it's part of bonding with your friend! i think some authors might be uncomfortable with it, but that doesn't mean it's inherently disrespectful imo.
