The 60 kt gust at the Anchorage Intl Airport ties for the highest south/southeast (chinook) gust at the airport since at least 1973. There have been stronger northerly (bora) gusts at the airport. And yes, much stronger chinook gusts are records every year near the mountains. @alaskawx.bsky.social
