How scary would it be, to survive homelessness, finally get a voucher and be placed in an SRO unit, then realize that some of your neighbors were running drugs out of rooms where they don't live. How do you stay sober? Who do you complain to? Is there anyone you can trust?
Show PostThe complaint alleges these SRO units were used to store large quantities of drugs so the dealers wouldn't have to carry contraband while commuting from the nice neighborhoods where they lived to the desperately poor and troubled block where they did business.
Show PostDefendant Rodney "Jamaica" Thomas slept in an apartment by Park La Brea. Yet DMV records and LAPD surveillance revealed he also had a keycard and lease to unit 425 in the same former SRHT SRO as defendant Manuel Vaughns. Scarce LAHSA units used for crime, not for housing?
