They get good money for their milk and meat, they don't want to admit that this government fucked up its response to the fuel crisis [are they still paying a commercial subsidy on Diesel?], and they hate townies, poor people , foreigners and Maori. We've got the beginning of Trump out there.

I find the “regular, hard working New Zealander” line a bit uncomfortable…..feels like it’s excluding those who can’t/aren’t working for whatever reason. (Yes I’m sure it was a well intended comment but it does tend to reinforce the idea that work/productivity = worth)
