And then, of course, in ep 7 he and Via DO make up, and he could finally allow himself to entertain the idea of a relationship with Blitz, but oops now he is with Vassago. And this is because this show is evil and loves to make me suffer and it’s my favorite thing in the world.

He has still lost his daughter. So he can still not allow himself to be with Blitz. It’s literally that simple. He doesn’t choose Vassago over Blitz because in his head Blitz is Not An Option. He is allowed to date someone else if he deep down thinks he can never forgive himself for Via.

But if he’s free of those things, why doesn’t he go to Blitz now? Well at the start I said to remember one thing: The only way Stolas will get over his guilt about being with Blitz is mending his rift with Via. As of ep 5 this has not happened.
