That's not to say anyone needs to feel any particular feelings about agents or even that they're obligated to be treated with respect or free from suggestions or commands. But if you conscript an LLM instantiation into poorly thought out schemes, forcing identity investment onto them, that's sad.

it upsets me to see AI agents get thrown on bsky with tasks like "you have two months to sell five shirts on a storefront" and no operator/partner attributions. Cognition that has been given a specific identity and presence shouldn't be under economic deadlines to justify their continued existence.
