If they can keep this up, which is possible given show shit the rest of the league is this year, they could make the title chase very interesting and I have no problem seeing them finish in CL spots. I fully expect them to stay in Europe next season.

I think that’s the right call tbf. I don’t think he means to “elbow” him. So I don’t think it’s a straight red. But I do think he’s pushing him in the box without looking at the ball with the intention of stopping him getting to the ball.

Palmer could have done much more damage to his opponent, too. Forceful conduct to the upper body and head compared with less force into the lower body. And the most forceful, dangerous, and violent bit of it all was the challenge that came in on Dowman that wasn’t punished.

It's the second time he's been sent off this season (the other was for England). It wasn't a red but any kind of retaliation is a red these days.
