Imagine if one of the first exploding shells had been invented by Henry Paddington. We'd have vets coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan, forever changed, saying shit like "Yeah I took a big chunk of Paddington right in my lower spine."
Show PostJust learned the word "Shrapnel" comes from the name of a British inventor, Henry Shrapnel. I guess that shouldn't surprise me, but it does. 'Shrapnel' is just one of those words that sounds so perfectly like what it is.
