What's wild to me is that since I moved back to the US early 2024, Halloween is the only time I feel a collective sense of community. I know this is not the case everywhere, so I cherish that I live in a place where this is still true.

The kids who visited us were very grateful overall, which was great to see. However, I don’t demand children perform gratitude, nor do I use it to determine who is a “good” or “bad” kid. I just hope they enjoy their candy
