"Hadn't scene". Also, I meant "consecutive", not "concurrent".
Show PostThis is really good. And also sparked the idea that maybe Episode 4 is somewhere in a vault in the Lubyanka having been stolen by the KGB because George Blake was curious about how the story ended (a poorly briefed agent failed to also steal Episode 3 which George missed because he was busy).
Show PostLovely, thought-provoking piece. Crystallises thoughts I’ve had for many years on the hold those early years still have on my imagination. Thanks. Although I have to ask: did footnote 1 involve some kind of bet? 😉
Show PostThe KGB dutifully continued stealing the master tapes until 14 January 1967, when Vladimir Semichastny saw episode 1 of The Underwater Menace and decided capitalism was best left to destroy itself.
Show PostA deservedly lauded story & performance, and the peak of a season that had already offered some of the the show's funniest, cleverest & most emotional scripts. Also damning that I can't imagine modern Trek trusting its audience to look up Nelson, Trafalgar, the Emperor Honorius or the Visigoths.
