But in this story the boy gets enslaved by Muslims and educated (while being objectified and punished for practicing Christianity) but ransomed by a knight. but the bulk of his abuse is by the Franks, incl a betrayal by his own Poitevin countrymen
Show PostWeirdly enough, this book reminded me....of The Horse and His Boy (Chronicles of Narnia) since the main character is just a poor blond getting SO ABUSED by a man who "saved" him. THAHB is a kids book so not about sex but there is the constant fear of slavery & the idealization of the European knight
