i would add that your name can be “cleared” by an inquiry/investigation/trial, but that’s irrelevant if you’ve spent over ten years developing a reputation within your chosen industry for a particular pattern of behaviour, as difficult as any one incident may.l be to prove

He didn't even have to change his views, when he announced he was stepping back he said he'd still be retweeting people about the issue. He didn't say he was changing his mind about anything. He just had to stop, himself, posting his hatred obsessively. He chose hate posts over his family.

He knew his obsession with harassing trans people was destroying his relationships. His family told him. He must have at some point even consciously acknowledged it, given he made those posts. And he couldn't even manage a couple days. That's how little his family was worth to him.
