I hate everything about this proposal, but it’s nothing more than a symptom of an avaricious corporation that cares about monetizing research for their own benefit, not about the research itself. They don’t care if research is good, only that it’s profitable.

I’m still thinking grumpily about this bullshit. They ask ‘how can AI support researchers in peer review?’, but they clearly aren‘t doing this to support us. They’re doing it to make money. The arbiters of quality will become the publishers, ending peer review & allowing them to publish & sell more.
