This is the inevitable future. We need cloud for AI right now, but the future that big AI fears is that local models will be run on your own computers... on you own phones, and then their lock on you and your wallet is mitigated. Also: Altman is such a loathsome figure.

The inanity of French academia knows no boundaries🙄 The research part of the IECB - an institute with one of the highest number of ERC grants/faculty in France - has been effectively dismantled. As a dual ERC grantee who 7y ago moved career & life to Bordeaux BECAUSE of the IECB I'm f’n’ dumbfounded
