I would guess it's Cottom, and the demo is about being careful of the spelling when you are searching for a voter. I would use your name and any other where one letter could send you down the wrong path. I'm guessing many poll workers are old and may have impaired vision. I'm not a poll worker. 🙃

That *is* weird as hell. The only thing I can think of (as somebody who used to work in a library, alphabetizing by last name all day while shelving fiction) is that your name is a good example of a few different ways that people can accidentally mis-alphabetize or misspell names.
