Show PostYeah like this is it, this entire worldview basically amounts to refusing to believe that wars exist if you close your eyes, and to be quite frank I am done taking those people seriously. The world is far too terrible right now to treat pacifists as adults worthy of participating in debate.
Show Postspoke to Blunt years ago when i was writing about the Pristina airport incident. Was genuinely struck by the level of moral clarity he had. Dude was very clearly prepared to face a court martial, rather than follow what he felt was an illegal and immoral attack order from an (American) general.
Show PostWhy not, if the guy owns 1/4 of Welsh land? This would be an inheritance tax not an individual tax, so I don't think it would be practically or morally difficult. The question is, would it be worth it? In terms of both £ gained, aristocrats enraged and future asset values shaken.
