IMO a lot of the current ‘philanthropists’ supporting the sector seem to be of a Zionist bent; it would be more appropriate if Jillian Segal was hitting *them* up for cash for cancelled Zionist creatives. But I suspect her recommendation isn’t needs-based so much as a power move.

I’m a bit confused about your input- are you in support of the idea of a federal grants category for Jewish artists only? Do you think it should be taken from what you see as the existing government largesse extended to the sector?

I’m sure you know that’s an incredibly trite response, Mark. Federal per-capita arts funding is still at a record low. I’m sure you could point to a very large-sounding number for total mental health care expenditure in Australia too, and use it to claim everything’s fine.
