“How can these people revel in their ignorance?!?!?” They don’t. They are revelling in the beautiful response it gets. Ok, that’s not ALL of it. Emotionally, they are also asserting that they are not obliged to GAF about your baseline, and that’s fun too.
Show PostThe number of people who get REALLY MAD when someone looks at someone famous and says “yeah, I have no idea who that is, and don’t care” is the number one reason that people are going to continue saying things like that.
Show PostI’m pretty sure it’s the latter, and I’m equally sure that this is the group that AI is going to kick down the stairs onto broken glass, and the results will be bad for everyone.
Show PostAnd that’s the bit I’m watching, because while AI may lower the bar, it doesn’t actually make anyone CARE any more than they did. It manifests the question of whether the value was in the technical skills, or in the mindset that LEAD to the technical skills.
Show PostThis won’t go well, but that almost goes without saying. Anyway, the reason I’m dwelling on this is that it has never been HARD to get mid-range technical. It’s maybe not trivial, but the bar is pretty low. But despite that, most people just don’t care enough to clear it.
