Yeah this really hit home, it's still incredibly bad for us in the DMV who got laid off and all the 'its a good job market' talk just rings hollow. It's incredibly demoralizing and all we have is us, because everyone who professed to care a year ago, does not anymore.

interestingly, human skin does not really have a moisture detector. apparently all the sensation of e.g. sticking your hand in water is just your brain interpreting temperature and pressure signals as I understand it, anyway
