Salads Salad seems like the perfect food for a fork, but it lacks the precision of chopsticks. You have to violently jab at the lettuce and veg, then you wind up with too much on the fork and now you look like a squirrel with your cheeks full of food and ranch dressing dribbling down your chin

It varies. At a nice restaurant, where they serve a good tossed salad, I find a fork needs an 'assistant' (either a knife or a spoon). And then there's the "American" (knife in the right hand) vs "Continental" (fork in the right hand) controversy, which completely disappears with chopsticks.
