Yes, but basically that's what led to them being restricted to the Komandorskiye islands in the first place. Steller wrote at length about Enhydra there and the crew's cruelty toward them. Probably no Hydrodamalis outside the Aleutians/Koms. by the latest Pleistocene/LGM/early Holocene

Presumably though if humans never got to the Koms, those otters would also have survived, though—I guess I'm missing how overhunting Enhydra in places the sea cows were already extinct would've affected Hydrodamalis.
