Thing 117 The Avengers: The Yesterday Quest somehow worse than the unfinished Bionicle serial of the same name. I hate you, Pietro. I hate you, High Evolutionary. And I hate you most of all, John Byrne
Show PostThe parade of old washed up comic creators unwillingly to uplift anyone isn’t really surprising. The fear of losing a gig by helping new talent unless they think there is something they can get out of it is the “old school” culture (an aspect so much worse for women btw). So, fuck em. Be forgotten
Show PostThe noticeable push I’ve seen to make Frank Miller, Rob Liefeld, Warren Ellis, John Byrne relevant again this year can’t be ignored. There’s so much to say about why they now feel safe to pop back up but to pretend to be nice when they show off the most dogshit work currently on shelves is too much.
Show PostI supposed Thomas is the original example of this, let's call it Thomas Syndrome, although I think you could make an argument that John Byrne also has it, but he was at least capable of creating new things. His ownership is just maybe more visibly aggressive and tinted with his bigotry.
Show PostIt's so funny man. I'm an immigrant too, fuck I came to the States more like Superman did than John (which is to say, as a baby), somehow Byrne managed to be a Total Fucking Jingoistic Weirdo about Superman the Immigrant
