The Ladies G.A.R. Home was built in 1890 to serve as a home for mothers and widows of Union soldiers that fought in the Civil War. The women had previously been living in a poorhouse. It later transitioned into a standard retirement home and closed in 1996. www.abandonedamerica.us/the-ladies-g...

Y’all. I am EXHAUSTED. Went an hour by ubahn to a library with youngest kiddo. He did not stop talking all the way there, while we were there, or the entire trip home. I love him and he is very much my child…but I need a nap.
