I'm going to need a moment to process this, friends. As a boy, Patrick Stewart as Captain Picard was the father I desperately craved. My family was a nightmare, but my TNG family was my salvation, starting with him. Stewart's delivery of Picard showed me a way through it all. I just lost my Dad.

Few role models had as positive an impact on me growing up as Jean-Luc Picard. Yuri and I even had a reading at our wedding which quoted from the TNG episode The Inner Light... “Live now. Make now always the most precious time. Now will never come again.” Thank you, Patrick Stewart. Rest well.
