I will never understand why people don’t give teenagers candy. Who fucking cares? The ones who come to my house tend to be super polite and excited to get candy from us, which makes me wonder if some people in my neighborhood are the assholes you speak of.

Somewhat along these lines, I have been wondering if we should have a public search engine housed under/administered by the Library of Congress? Open source, in a way that allows us to see how results are sorted/prioritized? In addition to recommitted, bigger funding of public media

This also tracks with people who lament that kids don't go outside enough and are on their phones too much. The same people crying about that are often the ones that call the cops when they see a group of young people minding their business.
