Rojava did have to deal with multiple foreign invasions, as well as crippling US sanctions. They were the US's absolute last choice of people to support, and that support was always minimal. But I don't really understand how these assertions relate to the topic of police reform.

Regardless of what you think of the project as a whole, it was a generally succesful attempt to maintain a security infrastructure while decentralising power and access to violence. This is worth learning from, including its failures and contradictions.

in our city the police said if they had to investigate every time a car hit a bike or person, thats all they would do (!!) I'd much rather have 10x the amount of crossing guards and abolish an army of ppl with guns & no accountability who don't care @ us getting hit
