A lot of majority SCOTUS opinions on VRA stuff emphasizes Black turnout being strong in the Obama era. It’s becoming strong again. But none of this means the VRA is unnecessary. Black votes count less after gerrymandering, and burdens are burdens even if you overcome them

Gotta keep two ideas in mind: 1) high Black turnout doesn’t mean that ending the VRA wasn’t bad for democracy, 2) we have to learn lessons from Black mobilization (for example, since the Shelby decision in 2013, Black urban/suburban turnout has done much better than exurb/rural B turnout)

It's a good thing Carney cancelled the increase in the capital gains tax, the richest people in Canada clearly need that money so much more than the government does. It takes multiple degrees in economics to make financial decisions that sound.
