It's bad journalism. The original story was loaded with innuendo and barely mentioned the fact — deep in the story — that even if true, this is a common ruse that Republicans use quite frequently. If they'd presented it as "Peltola campaign used political hardball tactics" it would have been fine.
Show PostPeople who think the Times reports fairly on both sides of the political spectrum are disingenuous & out of touch, at best. Especially when they give more coverage to something not illegal and barely mention the new credible allegations of Trump being a pedophile rapist released at the same time.
Show PostThat would be sound argument if the Times dropped the story about the AZ inmate GOP ran in AK, GOP funding of Jill Stein or that finding & funding is a normal course of business by political parties. This is neither scandal or anomaly.
Show PostAs many have said already, the issue is not publishing the piece, but the way it was framed: Like it’s some novel electioneering deceit, rather than the truth that it’s a tactic that’s been in widespread use for at least half a century, incl. by the GOP in at least 3 current races. 🙄
Show PostI would be fine with the Times doing this story about totally legal and politically accepted conduct ( except by the pearl clutches who want Dems to "go high," LOL) if they gave at least equal treatment to the clearly illegal conduct and disgusting racism we are currently seeing from the GOP.
