I cannot stress this enough -- if you are using AI to write your emails you send to authors -- even if you are a legit podcast, or reviewer, or anything really -- we are not even reading them. We get an influx every fucking day and we just don't read them now. We glance, see the AI & delete.

Here’s how it turned out. I’ve already trained them to say “Trick or treat, Gangs of Gotham is on shelves 11/4.” Based on the wonderful new design from @jorgejimenezart.bsky.social that my kid spotted this summer and zeroed in on as their costume choice this year.

So I didn’t get the autograph. But I did go home from the con and watch more TNG with him before he died. My dad’s favorite character (and mine) was Picard. Patrick Stewart brought us endless happiness and I am forever grateful to him for that.
