The Artists working on this show are giving us character and relationship vivisection, and while brutal I feel my own empathy gaps shrinking while I watch it. To spend a life choosing to fall in love again and again despite the pain, and to support each other's own stories and growth? How beautiful!

The season begins with Stolas at rock bottom, so his only way is up. Blitz hasn't hit rock bottom yet, and he's the Helluva Boss. This show is about *him*, so his journey will of course be more centralized and slower burned, more hard fought on-screen. It will have the greatest impact and reward.

In a show that plans to deal with addiction, we now have a MC falling back on unhealthy coping mechanisms to manage his pain. Blitz torturing a sentient (albeit rotten) robot that *looks* like his supposed unrequited crush is very, very dark. I don't care how hot he looks doing it. (He looks hot.)

Blitz has been the kind of person who will bankrupt his company before he'll tell a friend he's sad about a boy. He's bitten hands that try to feed him. But he's also trying so very hard to not be like that and it's *not* paying off. So he's also crawling deeper inside of himself. Work is hard!

Stolas is not good at reading a room. We've known this about him since his introduction. It's not a learned behavior he can outgrow, it's a default factory setting that can be modified through real effort and decision making about his behavior. It's not fixable; it's evergreen work. Work is hard!
