My most recent half-thought is about "AI" and cultural/social capital. Can't help but think it's going to become another marker of status in some way -- those who "have to" resort to LLMs, those who can afford a graphic designer, those with the time to do x.

There's been this steady beat of technologies of convenience and I at least have noticed that within my lifetime, refusing those technologies of convenience - in how you cook, for example - became a marker of quality, craft, the luxury of leisure etc. "AI" feels similar in some respects.
