Dropped my step-daughter and her friends at a party tonight. Didn’t for a moment feel jealous of going to a party but if you could bottle the feeling of excitement you get when you’re a teenager going to a big party that you’re excited about, it would sell out instantly.

This was understood on both sides of the political spectrum. My uncle is a late baby boomer, and he's generally pretty right wing, but he's never crossed a picket line or dobbed anyone in for trivial and/or property crime. It's possibly influenced by class background, but not the deciding factor.

Again, for the avoidance of doubt lest this be positively or negatively read as whataboutery: Russia is an imperialist state, its aggression towards Ukraine and its other neighbours is unforgivable, and it is absolutely morally imperative to support Ukraine in defending its people and sovereignty.
