Lesson learned: a US curling iron will not work in the UK, even with an adapter and converter But if you want your curling iron to shoot across the room, and your hotel room to smell of ozone, and don’t mind the risk of electric shock, give it a try

For the hot sauce nerds: it's 2:1 red fresnos to jalapeños with a few garlic cloves tossed in, fermented for 1 week in a 3% brine then blended with apple cider vinegar. The flavor is like a much hotter Crystal.
