I was aware that some have more time off than 3 weeks. But 3 weeks is a good starting point. As for bank holiday in NSW my home state. Bank Holiday (banks only, not a general public holiday) — Mon 3 Aug 2026 / Mon 2 Aug 2027

Oh! Included in that is a mandatory minimum of three weeks paid leave so that you can relax & refresh yourself for the coming year. Plus decreed public holidays which are paid as well. Some countries have longer mandatory annual leave plus decreed public holidays.

While I agree entirely, I think that asks for too little. You should be able to travel once a year, a big vacation. If the rich keep taking and giving us crumbs we forget that other (less wealthy) countries have over a year of maternity leave and several months of vacation a year.
