Sometimes, when I go running, I know it's basically going to be pointless. I haven't slept enough. I'm too fatigued from stress. My nutrition is all wrong. My heart rate is going to be up, my paces down. I'm going to gain nothing from it. And yet, I do it anyway.

I get up. I stare at the ceiling. I doomscroll. I consider, well, maybe I shouldn't today. Maybe I can take this day off. I feel like shit anyway, everything is going wrong, it's a waste of time. Maybe it will kill me. But, for whatever reason, I find myself out there with my shoes on.
