I think half the reason it's so easy for people to believe ai is unprofitable is that they've been conditioned by at least a decade of ZIRP-era millennial-subsidy growth-hacking stories from silicon valley and they don't believe VCs actually understand economics.

I understand some people have some wariness about this, and that’s good! You have to keep that! That’s the mechanism that makes you want to end the practice rather than retain it and turn it to your own (unfair) advantage, because that’s unstable too.
