I'd rank Rocky fourth out of the five nominees that year, behind Network, Taxi Driver, and All the President's Men, while conceding that it might be the best Best Picture nominee ever to rank fourth out of five. (The fifth nominee was Bound for Glory, to answer your very reasonable question.)
