#PlayingJapan Playtesting Part 1 went so well, what a joy! Half of the class brought their MVP (Minimum Viable Product) Prototypes to play in groups. “Ugly” & cheap design encouraged. Acorns for meeples r my fave. Many diff mechanics & themes like the salaryman grind, anime studio, Yokai, & samurai.

We buried the lede a little in announcing our December call for pitches, but this fundraiser is kind of key to making the Simpsons issue happen. We've already had to publish less this year because of declining donations, but we're hoping the support is still out there.

Contingent Magazine pays its writers. It always has. It's paid hundreds of contingent historians over the last eight years. It's always been donor-funded, and most of those donors? Contingent historians themselves. For the first time, we're not sure we can pay for a full December issue.
