I don't think most people realize that living as a trans person is hardly ever not like either of these extremes; either living authentically as your best self and being treated like Public Enemy #1, or masking yourself under layers of dissociation and self loathing until the day you die.

I wrote this for a lot of reasons: because the Democratic shift to open anti-trans bigotry started well before this campaign season, because I was sick of incompetent servility from trans gentry "leaders" and because now, especially, trans communities need clear calls to fight. We're worth it.
