There are apparently a lot of films made before 1980 that aren't available for streaming. Having a physical DVD ensures you're not at the mercy of steaming platforms' whims.

Show PostSomething similar has been done at @lborouniversity.bsky.social for some years now. Biggest issue often seems to be finding somewhere to store the mass of left items over the summer! My slow cooker came from one such clearance a good few summers ago (probably before the pandemic IIRC).
