It remains obscene to me that we sold basically the country's entire electricity generation infrastructure — built over decades by NZ taxpayers, for the benefit of the whole country — to investors for ~$5b and in the years since, they've extracted billions and invested far less. And we pay more.

In short, let’s slow down cars, build safe infrastructure, get more people out of cars, & yes, limit sales of uncapped scooters. Banning a form of transportation that has given people (especially teens) freedom & an affordable, accessible, fun way to get around outside of a car is not the answer.
