I’m super lame when it comes to social media (lame with other things too, but that’s a post for another day) so I never got into IG, (yay, one less thing now). I write spooky MG so I’m constantly trying to figure out creative and interactive ways to get the books in front of kids & adults.

It tells me people need and want moral reference points, that they provide a shared moral imagination, and that there's a greater appetite for goodness than our public discourse suggests.

The one thing I've taken from the reaction of deaths of Dolly Parton and Patrick Stewart is how much love there is towards people who represent goodness, and how much meaning they bring to people's lives, shaping the idea of the world they want to live in, giving them ideals to strive for.

If you want more Patrick Stewarts, then you publicly fund the arts and learning programs, so that working class kids can find their way into making a career in them.
