I honestly disagree. I think it's ok to sympathize, that doesn't mean you condone it, it means you have empathy but also understand that they are horrible people. Two things can be true. Like the story doesn't excuse the behavior but it explains it. And I think thats ok.

Actually i think I will elaborate. Verosika and Barbie went the opposite directions in terms of dating. Resulting in one getting into a deep, personal relationship that genuinely makes her happy and one getting into a very superficial relationship that’s probably not going to last a week.
